Kieren Phelps has been an illustrator since 1982. He illustrated many editorial magazines and books such as the Sunday Times, Radio Times, the Listener, Car magazine, Nursing Times, Penguin, Longman, Oxford University Press and many others during the 1980s and 90s. More recently he has produced animated films, illustrations and a graphic novel using digital 'natural media' software, and the most recent work he has produced shows a return to traditional pen and ink.

He started teaching in 1998 and has run the Illustration department of the University of Gloucestershire since 2005.
